INFORMATION THAT WE COLLECT FROM YOU

When you visit, or request information on http://www.thewaltonhotel.com you may be asked to provide certain information about yourself including your name and contact details.


We may also collect information about your usage of our website as well as information about you from messages you post to the website and e-mails or letters you send to us.


To maintain customer service standards and to assist staff training, we may record and monitor incoming calls.


USE OF YOUR INFORMATION

Your information will enable us to provide you with access to all parts of our website and to supply the information you have requested. It will also enable us to contact you where necessary concerning your enquiry. We will also use and analyse the information we collect so that we can administer, support, improve and develop our business.


In particular, we may use your information to contact you for your views on our services and to notify you occasionally about important changes or developments to the website or our services. Further, where you have consented, we might also use your information to let you know by email about other products and services which we offer which may be of interest to you. SECURITY AND DATA RETENTION


We employ security measures to protect your information from access by unauthorised persons and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction and damage. We will retain your information for a reasonable period or as long as the law requires.


Any changes to our privacy policy in the future will be posted to the website and, where appropriate, through e-mail notification.

CANCELLATIONS


Bookings must be cancelled by 3pm one day prior (24 hours) to arrival unless otherwise specified when booking. A one night’s room charge will be charged for guests who do not cancel their reservation within the hotel's cancellation policy. Peak periods and bank holidays may have additional cancellation restrictions which are stated during the booking process.

The hotel reserves the right to cancel a booking at any time before the check in date. This would normally only be necessary to accommodate any building work or other unforeseen circumstances. In these cases, we will refund in full all money received by us for the booking but we not have any liability beyond this. We will assist where possible to find alternative accommodation.


CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT


Check-In time is from 3pm. Check-Out time is 11am at the latest. Early Check-In is by request only and not guaranteed. Late Check-Out must be coordinated with the hotel if it is available.


CARD PRE-AUTHORISATION

In the interests of security and to prevent fraud, at the time of check-in, guests may be required to confirm their identity by providing their booking reference; their passport/identity card/driving licence and a valid credit or debit card which will be swiped in the presence of the card holder. All reservations will require a pre-authorisation with a credit/debit card to cover incidentals during your stay. If paying cash, we will require the payment to cover the total cost of the room rate and no credit at the hotel will be available, unless a pre- authorisation of a card is provided.


All bookings made in advance will require a valid credit/debit card to secure the booking. We reserve the right to check if cards are valid with a pre-authorisation prior to your stay. If valid card details are not provided prior to your stay, your booking will be cancelled.

What is a pre-authorisation?

A pre-authorisation is a temporary hold of a specific amount of the available balance on a credit or debit card. The pre-authorisation is not a charge and no funds have actually been debited from your account, however your bank statement may show the pre-authorisation as a pending transaction. When you give us a credit/debit card, the pre- authorisation guarantees us that the funds are available to pay for your stay.

How much is a pre-authorisation?

We will pre-authorise your card the amount to cover the room rate for the stay, e.g. if you are staying for 3 nights at £100 per night, we would pre-authorise your card for £300.00. If you have pre-paid for your room, then we will normally pre-authorise a smaller amount to cover incidentals. This guarantees that you have the funds available to settle the room bill and allows us to give you credit around the hotel during your stay, for example in the bar, in the restaurant, room service etc.

When does the pre-authorisation get released from the credit card?

Upon your check out your room charge and any extras will be charged to your card. If the final amount is within 15% of the pre-authorisation amount the transaction should show on your statement immediately.

However if the amount to be debited for your stay is plus/minus 15% of the pre-authorisation amount this should appear on your credit card statement within 3 working days as your card issuer may need to reissue/re-authorise on the same code for security purposes. However if you choose to pay the balance with another credit card or method of payment, the existing pre-authorisation will normally expire within a few working days depending upon the card issuer.
 

LIABILITY

Guests’ liability for their account is not waived and guests agree to be held personally liable in the event that any indicated person, group, company or association fails to pay all or part of any charges incurred.


DAMAGE TO HOTEL PROPERTY

We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage or soiling, caused by the accidental, deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the guest to the hotel’s property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit / debit card, or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address.

The bar is open as follows:


9am - Midnight  - Monday - Thursday

9am - 1.00am - Friday & Saturday

9am - 11.30pm - Sunday


CAR PARKING

The Hotel car park is situated at the rear of the hotel where there is limited parking for hotel residents. There are parking spaces surrounding the hotel. Parking is not permitted on double yellow or blue lines as these are for permit holders only. If you are parked on adjacent roads around the hotel, please collect a parking permit from reception.
